Palette 28 and a house update

When I saw this palette I really wanted to give it a go simply because it is colours I never use. I had a plan, it didn't come together 100% as I had hoped but I'm pleased I gave it a go. Anyhoo, here's the palette...

And here's my take on it.....

I've used Webster's Pages, Seaside Retreat paper and some older paper I had in my stash. The photo I've used was taken on New Years Day 2008 not far from our house .... I never tire of the beautiful sunset's we get here in Western Australia .... they truly are spectacular.

For the title I've used Cricut Chipboard and "Gypsy Font" which I've welded together. I've then sprayed it with Glimmermist "Graphite".

Now here's an update on the house. Of late there hasn't been much to take photo's of, but we have now got White set on the walls as well as ceilings as shown in these photos.

This is the theater at the front of the house which I'll be using as my craft room....

Next we have the kitchen, with Shep sitting in it .... he knows which room the food comes from!!!

This photo is taken from the alfresco looking through the living area to the front of the house.

This is the stacker door in the alfresco looking into the lounge

These photos were taken on the weekend but yesterday glass was put in all of the windows and doors & today the two remaining doors were put on and locks put in ..... yes, that's right..... five months later and we are finally at lock up!!!

Well, that's all for now, thanks for stopping by,

Until next time,

Scrap Zones

Back in June, while at a Friday crop my friend and I got talking to one of the other ladies about a new ning site call "The Colour Room", my friend checked it out and decided to challenge myself and two of our other friends that we scrap with each month, to complete a particular "Color Palette" by the time we next scrapped together.... she also included her sister in the US and her niece in the Eastern States in this challenge. Fast forward a few months and we are hooked!

We are having such a great time and are enjoying seeing each others take on the different palettes. One day it was suggested that we should find a name for ourselves so, we each put forward a suggestion and my friend had some work colleagues choose the best one... which turned out to be "Scrap Zones" so named because we are spread across three different time zones. We then all had a photo taken of ourselves sitting at our scrap desk and were then challenged to use palette #3 and the 6 photos. (Wow! What a long intro!)

Here's palette # 3...

And here's my take on it .....

The paper I've used is some old Kaiser I had in my stash, I've then used a mask I cut out on my Cricut and "Dragonfly" glimmermist to spray the corners. I've taken a few liberties with the shade of purple .... but I won't tell if you don't.

This is a close up of the wording...

It's a little hard to read but it says...
2 Countries
3 States
6 Friends
1 Big Obsession

We are going to all post our layouts on the Color Room nign site tomorrow night so that we can try and get them all side by side, so if you want to have a look at what the others did head on over and check out the gallery after about 7pm tomorrow.

Well that's all for now,

Thanks for stopping by,

A little challenge and some MME

Hiya,

Hope you all had a good weekend. I actually managed to get a couple pages done this weekend which was great. The first one is Palette #27 from The Color Room, I loved the colours and the sketch and found it came together easily. So, here's the palette ....

And here's my take on it ...

These photos are of a little green frog we saw up at Botanic Golf in Wanneroo one time we were there with my parents, it was so very cute.

Add a couple Dusty Attic steams from my favourite online scrap store (Scraptique) which I painted with English Ivy Glimmermist (strangely enough .... also from Scraptique)...

And a title from my trusty Cricut, along with some Adorn-it letters and a little stitching and there you have it!

For this next page I used some of the new My Minds Eye "Lost and Found" range. It is so beautiful! I kinda went a tad crazy when I was buying it a few weeks ago but since I got it home all I've been able to do is look at it and admire it.
Saturday night I sat down to have a play and after walking away and coming back to it I finally came up with this.....

I kept it kinda simple because the paper itself is so beautiful. All I've added is some tea dyed muslin, a little lace and some beads and the word "Friends".

The birds kept calling to be cutout and popped up but as I only had one piece of this paper I wasn't sure how to achieve this, so I very carefully cut them out, secured a neutral piece of paper behind it and then with the help of some liquid scrap dots I was able to mount up the birds.

I really love this photo, it was taken down at Preston Beach back in May when I went to a scrap retreat with three of my friends. We decided to go sit and watch the sun set with a glass of wine .... it was lovely.

Well, that's all for now.

Cherish, Adore

This weeks Color Room palette #26 are soooooo my colours, as soon as I saw it I was inspired. I took a few liberties with the page map, but I really like the end result.

This is the colour palette...

And here's my take on it....

The paper I've used is Creative Imaginations - Breathless and one of the Collections Ranges.

This gorgeous book plate is from Tim Holtz, through in some yummy Dusty Attic & Collections chipboard with some Graphite Glimmermist to top it off.

This journalling is a little technique I saw in a magizine and I thought I'd give it a try .... I like the effect, it's a nice way to add journalling .... especially for someone whose not big on journalling.

Well, that's all for now, thanks for stopping by,
