7 Gypsies

Hello,

Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend. In between weeding, spraying and mulching my rose garden I've been having a play with some yummy 7gypsies paper from Scraptique. They are from the "Venice Paper" range.

This is a photo taken about 13 years ago on one of our visits to Grandma & Grandad's, sadly Grandad passed away a few years ago, but I love this photo of them together.

As well as the 7gypsies paper, I've used a Tim Holtz Ornate Book Plate and part of a Dusty Attic Wrought Iron Fence which I've sprayed with Charcoal Chalkboard Glimmermist (all available from Scraptique)

Well, the pile of mulch on my driveway is calling, and sadly it won't get on to the rose gardens on it's own, so until next time, thanks for stopping by.

A Quick Post..

Happy long weekend!

I just wanted to quickly post these pic's of the page's I did last night. I finally did a double page layout.... something I haven't done for a while.

I've had these photo's and paper put together for a while but unfortunately, due to the hassles we've had with the the building company I've been to aggravated to work with these photos, but I'm trying to build a bridge and focus on the fun, exciting enjoyable parts of it.

These photo's are of the sand pad, the footings and of us standing on the slab.

And this is the slab picnic we had the weekend after the slab went down ... it was a lovely day.

Well, I must dash, I'll hopefully have some more show and tell soon.

A Little More Progress

We finally have a little more progress on our house .... on Monday the roof went on .... here's proof!

Here's the roof from the front of the house. And no Dad .... the F_ _d (I'm not allowed to say bad 4 letter words) parked in front of the house isn't ours!

Scrap Camp

Hi All,

This weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to a lovely scrap camp organised by my friend at the Manjedal Activities Centre. It was a lovely setting and we even had a visit from some of the locals. This Kookaburra came and sat on the rail outside the room we were scrapping in, he wasn't at all concerned when I went out the door by him to get this photo.... in fact, I think he was posing for me!

But what was really special was seeing several Blue Wren flitting around, sadly they moved to quick to get a good photo but I did managed to get this one. They really were amazing, such a vivid blue! I was told that this was because it's mating season and they get more vivid in colour to attract a mate.

My friends husband very kindly came along and acted as cook, bag carrier and guide. He took us out for two walks through the bush which were great. These are some flowers I saw when we were out in the morning. We saw kangaroos when we went out in the afternoon, but I wasn't quick enough to get a photo.

Sadly though my back decided it wasn't going to play the game anymore so I had to come home on Saturday afternoon, however, I did manage to get a few pages done before I left. Here's what I came up with.

I started this first page at the Inspired Friday at Inspired Craft at the beginning of the month but I hadn't had a chance to finish it. The paper is a range from My Minds Eye, it's absolutely beautiful.

This little birdie is on the paper, so I cut it out and mounted it up.

The title has been cut using Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" and sprayed with "Olive Vine" Glimmermist. The large chipboard leaves are Dusty Attic sprayed with "Haunted Shadows" Glimmermist, with small black rose buds twisted around them.

This next page is based on palette #23 from The Colour Room

Here's my take on it. The photo's are of me when I was little. The paper I've used is one of the older Kaiser ranges that I had in my stash.

These flowers were white Prima flowers which I've sprayed with "Dragonfly" Glimmermist (large flowers) which I got from a fantastic new online store called Scraptique, and the small ones have been sprayed with "Jack O Lantern" Glimmermist. The leaves are made from muslin which I've sprayed with "Key Lime Green" Glimmermist (encase you hadn't noticed ... I have a thing for Glimmermist!)

This Butterfly is a Dusty Attic "Flutterby", I've inked it with white ink, and then used a paint brush to paint Dragonfly & Jack O Lantern Glimmermist and then sprayed "Marshmallow" Glimmermist over the top, I'm rather pleased with the result.

This next page was made using paper from the Creative Imaginations "Breathless" range (also available from Scraptique), and a piece of Collections 6x6 paper.

The title and the fence are both Dusty Attic sprayed with "Suede" Glimmermist.

This is the last one I promise, both these papers are Basic Grey, from my stash, and while I don't go for Pink it just worked perfectly with this photo of Tulips I took at Araluen.

This page was great, 'cos it used up a lot of things I had in my stash, such as the pin and the flourish.

These flowers are the new Maya road ones ... which are so cute!

As Promised ...

Here we go, as promised, some photos of the progress on the house build. It ended up taking 9 weeks for the brick work to be done but now we have roof beams and are just waiting for the plumbers and electricians to come and do their bit so that the Colourbond roof can go on.

Sadly, due to on going problems with the builders the shine has been taken of our project but we are still hopeful that we will be happy with the end result.

Finally!

Oh my goodness! I was beginning to think that I was never going to be able to get photo's to load up!!! But Finally I have managed to get the blogger fairies to play nice!!!

So... without further a-do .... here's some pic's of a couple layouts I've done lately.

This first one was done using photos I took down at the Scrap Away in WA Retreat down at Foot Prints at Preston Beach. it was a great weekend with some very wonderful friends.

The photo I've used on this page was taken at Champion Lake, we were walking Shep down there one evening when a plane flew over and left a jet stream across the sunset. I just love this photo and I've been carrying it around with me for ages trying to find the right paper to use but nothing seemed to do it justice, then about a month ago I was scrapping at Jandakot and Jordie suggested some paper .... it was the last paper I would ever have thought of using but it worked! It's a Basic Grey range called Max & Whiskers, on one side of the papers is dog and cat patterns but on the other side are plain colours. I'm really pleased with the end result.

This layout was done using another old family photo, both these dinghy's were build by my great grandfather Bill Franks, the big one in the centre of the photo was called Dory, it was the one he used to row from his island, up the river to the main road to get supplies. The smaller dingy to the left of the photo was called "Mighty Mouse", it's the dinghy he built for my father and his sister.

This paper I've used Websters pages from the "Seaside" range, I just love it! The brown fabric behind the photo and the journalling is muslin that I've sprayed with Suede glimmermist.

The title was cut from Cricut Chipboard using the "Storytime" cartridge and then sprayed with "Frozen Lake" glimmermist.

Well, that's all the layout's I have to show you for now but I'll be back later with some progress photo's of our build.

Please hang in there ...

Hi All,

Well, it would seem that the blogger fairies have taken a leaf out of the Train drivers book and have an ongoing case of "Blue Flu"! For the past few weeks I can't seem to get any photo's to load up, no matter what I do! An it now seems that I can select any font I like so long as it's Times New Roman!!

I have been creating and have photos to share of these creations and some of the house progress, too, so as soon as the blogger fairies resolve their industrial dispute .... uh, I mean, recover from their illnes *cough, cough* I promise I'll load them up.

In the mean time, please keep checking back.
