Cindy Loo

I recently got two new Cricut cartridges, Cindy Loo & Serenade, and I've been having a bit of a play. The are both great cartridges with lots of good things.

The photo I've used was taken up at Whiteman Park last weekend. I wanted to get a photo Phil, Shep & myself together but couldn't figure out how I was going to do it until I found an obliging stump! I set the timer on my camera going, sat it on the stump and ran like a mad thing back to Phil & Shep ( a very entertaining sight I must say!) I really like the photo, except for the fact that I should have zoomed in a little I think.

Anyhoo, as I was saying I've been playing with Cindy Loo & Serenade. Th branch on this layout is from Serenade, which I have then embossed, and the little bird house is from Serenade.

Another very cute thing from Cindy Loo is this little deer and squirell ..... brings back memories for Bambi.

This next layout was done using another old family photo from my fathers side. I've used paper from the Basic Grey "Capella". The internal shape was cut using a shape from Gypsy Wanderings.

Both the title and the florish under the the photo are chipboard which has been sprayed with Tattered Leather Glimmermist, while the fabric (muslin) was sprayed with Suede Glimmermist. And it was all topped off with a lovely Collections butterfly.

Well that's all for now, I'll hopefully have some more to show you later.
Thanks for dropping by,
Until next time,
Kaye

Little Birdie

On Sunday we went up to Whiteman Park to take Shep for a walk, it was a lovely morning. As we were walking down one of the paths Phil looked up into one of the old burnt out gum trees and there perched on a branch was this bird. It look like its meant to be a combination between a Magpie and a Toucan, some clever person had made it out of metal and perched it there. It looked so cool I got him to take this photo.

And while this page is very simple compared to the others I've been doing of late I still enjoyed it. I received a couple new Cricut Cartridges last week (Serenade & Cindy Loo) and so I had a play. The font is from Cindy Loo, and I cut it out of some old Prima "Mommy & Me" paper I had floating around (layered on Cricut chipboard, of course!) The branch is from the Serenade cartridge and the owl, is cut out of the same paper as the title. The grass is from the Platin Schoolbook cartridge.

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to show up so well in the photo but on the main photo, I've cut out the section of the photo where the bird is and have mounted it up.

Well, that's all for now.

Until next time,

Kaye :o)

A Class, A Card & A Challenge

While the blogger fairies were in a good mood this morning I thought I've make to most of it and post a few photo's.

First up are some pic's of a class I did at Tomorrow's Memories on Saturday. The teacher was a very talented lady by the name of Sonia and the class was call "Adore You". Here's my page (I just love this photo of my boys together).

The class was such a lot of fun, we used a yummy Dusty Attic window frame which we covered with UTEE, and I have to say that I just adore the paper... sadly the class used the last of what they had in store ... oh well!

Next up is a card I made last week, I haven't really made any cards for ages, and I was rather pleased with this one. The base paper was some left over Prima and the rest ... yep, you guessed it ... Graphic 45!

And now for the challenge .... and boy what a challenge! It is a "Colour Room" colour palette challenge that one of my friends choose as our July Challenge (a group of us all work on a challenge and then have a "show & tell" when we get together to scrap at the beginning of the following month). These are definitely not my colours and I was beginning to despair that I was never going to get it together but last night it just happened! Here's the colour palette and sketch.

And here's my take on it.

These photo's were taken back in 2006 at my brothers wedding, they are of my niece Talia and another little girl on the dance floor. So cute!

I was really struggling to find the right paper until I saw the Basic Grey "Olivia" range ... it's very cute. So the paper is "Olivia" and Cor'dinations. The pink & grey flowers were originally white Kaiser & Prima flowers which I have sprayed with "Graphite" Glimmermist and "Red Lustre" from Crafty Notions. It gives a really good effect, sadly though the shimmer isn't conveyed through on the photo's so well.

Well, that's all for now, until next time.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Love of Scrap

Back in May I went with three friends to a Scrap Away in WA retreat down at Foot Prints Resort, Preston's Beach. On the Saturday evening we decided to take a walk down to the beach and watch the sun set, and this is where the photo I used was taken. When I went to scrap it I got to thinking about how incredible scrapping is .... here are four complete strangers who would otherwise most likely never have met, but through our mutual love of scrapping we have become friends, so that is what I have tried to reflect in the title of this page.
I have a bit of an obsession with Websters Pages paper, and this layout is no exception, although, the cream paper used as the background was actually a piece from the new Kaiser range that just provided the right base. The rest was taken from Websters "Garden gala" paper. I have cut out all the flowers, bird bath and flags, then mounted them up using liquid scrap dots (oh how I love liquid scrap dots!)

Well, I must toddle, the elephant is wanting his walk. I have some other pictures to post and if the blog fairies play nice I'll do that later today.

Until then, thanks for dropping by.
