Another old family photo

Just a quick post.
This layout was done using another one of the old family photo's I recently received. In the photo are my dad's brothers Neal and Alan and a cousin Murray, the photo was taken on the family island my great grandfather built at Ngunguru, Northland, New Zealand. Sadly this island is no longer in the family but it is lovely to see the memories.

The paper I've used is Graphic 45 from the "On the Boardwalk Collection", it suits the photo well I think. The font on the title isn't a cricut font this time (I know, shock horror!) but it's "Hippie Chick" a cuttlebug die.
Well, that's all for now.
Until next time.

I'm on a roll!

Last night I went to a Midnight Madness at Tomorrow's Memories in Bassendean with my good friend Susan and we had a ball! Such a lovely (and very dangerous shop .... no credit card escapes unscathed!) with very friendly ladies.

I managed to finish a page and complete another (all except the title anyway) which for me is a big achievement. I hadn't quite finished the title when I did my earlier post but I thought I'd take advantage of the blog fairy's good humour (it seems to be playing nice today)and post it now.

This is a photo of my Mum taken almost 47 years ago on her wedding day. Doesn't she look beautiful! I used paper from the Kaiser "Utopia Collection" (hmmm, I seem to be on a bit of a Kaiser kick at the moment!), I just loved the paper and thought it screamed to be cut out and mounted up! So several hours and lots of liquid scrap dots later this is what I came up with.

For the title I used cricut chipboard and the font from the "Winter Woodland" cartridge, I sprayed it with "Key Lime Pie" glimmermist and once it had dried I ran it through the cuttlebug and embossed it with the swirl embossing folder.

Alright, that's all for today .... I promise!

Catch you later.

Bit of a catch up

Well I've managed to get the blog fairies to play nicely this morning so I thought I'd take advantage and get as many photos up as I could while the going was good.

Last weekend I went to a 12 hour crop at Just Scrapbooking, to continue my Scrap mojo rehabilitation and it was a success ..... my mojo is nearly back in full force :o)

This first layout was done using The Kaiser "Devonshire Collection". The photo is of my Granny, my Auntie & Uncle as children along with a family friend. It is one of the photo's on a disk I recently received and it really was nice to see.

And finally, here's some more photo's our build, yep that's right .... we have a slab, it was poured last Wednesday.

And then on Thursday we got the builders sign, there won't be much progress for a while now 'cos they have to allow the slab to cure but it's still very exciting.

Well until next time, thanks for dropping by.

We have pipes & footings!

We have progress! Today the builders put in footings and the pipes. This photo is taken from our driveway looking down the block.
This photo is looking from our bedroom towards the front of the house.

It's amazing how just looking at the foundations the house looks tiny, like it's not the right size. Can't wait to see the slab go down which should happen over the next couple days.
Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

A little more from the retreat

Persistence has paid off and I've managed to get the blog fairies to play and let me load up some more pic's.

This particular project would have to be my favourite from last weekend, it took me a long time to make but I'm really pleased with it. I got the idea from a couple Maxine & Audry classes I did last year and then worked from there.

I've used a Twiddly Bits shadow box and the rest is Collections chipboard and papers.

This stamp is a Collections stamp I've had for a while, but I just love the wording, it's just so beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Scrap Away in WA Retreat

Last weekend I deserted my poor long suffering husband and went to a scrap retreat at Footprints, Preston Beach with three friends. We had an a ball! It was the first retreat I'd been to so I didn't know what to expect but it was great. Peta, Alyssa, Danielle and myself shared a room, sleeping on bunk beds ... I haven't slept on bunks since I was a kid!

Aside from much laughing, chatting and the odd glass of wine (or two) I did manage to get a few things done.

This first page was done using some of the Websters Seaside range. The photo is of me with my cousins two girls which was taken back in 2006 when we went Dolphin watching off Rockingham.

For the title I've used Cricut "Blackletter", and cut it out of cricut chipboard.

I also managed some other projects while I was away but unfortunately the blogger fairies don't want to play and allow me to upload pic's at the moment but I'll try again later.
If you have time I'd love for you to pop back later.
Until then,
Kaye

We have sand!

I have a photo of another project to show you today ... yep, we finally have some progress on our build! On Tuesday the sand pad was put on the block, all going well and weather permitting we should have a slab by the end of next week ... yiippppee!

I have also done some scrapping but unfortunately with it getting dark so early at the moment I haven't had a chance to take any photos, hopefully I can get them done this weekend so I can show you.

Until next time,

Kaye
